How to Integrate Videowise with Subscription Apps

Follow these instructions to integrate Videowise with subscription apps.

Videowise allows you to sell subscription products directly inside shoppable videos, giving shoppers the choice between a one-time purchase and a subscription plan without leaving the video experience.

This guide explains how to enable subscriptions in Videowise, customize how they appear in the video player, and use descriptions to clarify subscription benefits.

What Subscriptions in Videowise Do

When subscriptions are enabled:

  • Shoppers can choose Subscribe & Save or One-time purchase directly from a video
  • Subscription options are pulled from your existing Shopify subscription app
  • The experience stays fully in-video, reducing friction

Videowise works with Shopify subscription products as long as they are correctly configured in your store.

Prerequisites

Before enabling subscriptions in Videowise:

  • You must already use a Shopify subscription app
  • Subscription products must be active in Shopify
  • Products must be linked to your videos in Videowise

Videowise does not replace your subscription app, it surfaces subscription options inside the video player.

Where to Configure Subscriptions in Videowise

  1. Open Videowise
  1. Go to Widgets
  1. Open the widget you want to edit
  1. Go to Player design
  1. Open the Subscriptions section

All subscription-related settings are managed at the widget level.

Enable Subscription Payments

Turn this toggle ON to activate subscriptions inside the video player.

When enabled:

  • Videowise connects to your subscription platform
  • Subscription purchase options appear when products are shown in videos

If turned off, only one-time purchases are shown.

General Setup Options

Include one-time purchase

When enabled, shoppers can choose between:

  • One-time purchase
  • Subscription

Best practice: keep this enabled unless your product is subscription-only.

Section label

This controls the label shown above the purchase options.

Example:

  • Frequency
  • Delivery options
  • Purchase options

Use clear, simple wording that explains the choice.

Subscription title

This is the main headline for the subscription option.

Common examples:

  • Subscribe & Save
  • Monthly delivery
  • Auto-replenish & save

This text strongly influences subscription adoption.

Discount Settings

Discount label

Defines how the discount is presented.

Example:

  • SAVE
  • 10% OFF
  • MEMBER PRICE

This appears visually next to the subscription option.

Text color & background color

These settings control the visual style of the discount badge.

Use:

  • High contrast for visibility
  • Brand-aligned colors for consistency

Secondary Text

This text explains the subscription terms in plain language.

Common examples:

  • Skip, modify or cancel any time
  • No commitment. Cancel anytime.
  • Pause or change deliveries whenever you want

This text reduces hesitation and builds trust.

You can customize:

  • Font weight
  • Text color

Style & Visual Customization

Subscription styling inherits the widget’s player design but allows:

  • Color overrides for subscription elements
  • Clear visual separation between one-time and subscription options

Always preview on mobile, as most subscription purchases happen there.

Adding Descriptions to Support Subscriptions

Video descriptions help explain why subscribing is valuable.

Where to add descriptions

  1. Open a video in the Library
  1. Go to Info
  1. Add a Description

Descriptions are internal but can be used to:

  • Explain subscription benefits
  • Add context for customer support or marketing teams
  • Standardize messaging across videos

What to Include in Subscription-Focused Descriptions

Recommended content:

  • Why the product is used repeatedly
  • How often customers typically reorder
  • Key benefit of subscribing (savings, convenience, consistency)

Example:

“Best-selling daily supplement. Most customers reorder every 30 days. Subscription saves 15% and includes free shipping.”

This ensures consistency across videos using the same product.

How Subscriptions Appear in Shoppable Videos

When everything is configured:

  • The video shows the linked product
  • Shoppers see One-time purchase and Subscription options
  • Subscription discount and terms are clearly visible
  • Checkout continues through Shopify as usual

No additional redirects or popups are required.

Common Use Cases

Subscriptions inside videos work especially well for:

  • Supplements and nutrition
  • Skincare routines
  • Household essentials
  • Consumables with repeat purchase behavior

Summary

Videowise allows you to seamlessly integrate Shopify subscription products into shoppable videos.

From one place, you can:

  • Enable subscriptions at the widget level
  • Customize subscription messaging and design
  • Offer flexible purchase options inside videos
  • Improve subscription adoption without extra friction
