How to configure General Settings
Read this guide to understand how to configure the General settings in Videowise.
This page controls brand identity, video marketing URLs, and how Videowise interacts with your product pages and inventory. All settings here apply store-wide.
To locate general settings:
- Go to Settings
- Click General settings
Store Logo
Your store logo is used to visually brand shoppable video experiences so they feel consistent with your store.
- In Store logo, click Upload
- Upload your logo file
- Recommended size: 400 × 160 px
- Save your changes
💡 The file should be a transparent (.png) file, and the recommended size is 400 x 160px
Video Marketing URL
The Video Marketing URL is your main Videowise subdomain.
It’s used for shoppable video marketing experiences, such as standalone video pages or campaigns.
- Your assigned Videowise subdomain
Example format: yourstore.videowise.shop
Notes:
- This URL is generated automatically
- It cannot be edited manually
- It’s used whenever Videowise hosts a video experience outside your main Shopify pages
Product Widget Settings
These settings control how Videowise connects with your product media gallery on Shopify product pages.
They are mainly used for product page widgets and advanced theme integrations.
Those query selectors can be found with right click -> Inspect element on product and collection pages, and getting the first container above the Videowise widget <div>
Gallery Query Selector
Defines the parent HTML element for the large product images in your product media gallery.
Example use:
- Helps Videowise identify where the main product images live
- Ensures video widgets align correctly with existing product media
Only change this if:
- Your theme uses a custom or non-standard gallery structure
- You are instructed to do so by Videowise support
Thumbnail Query Selector
Defines the parent HTML element for product image thumbnails.
Use this when:
- Your product page has thumbnail navigation
- You want Videowise widgets to integrate cleanly with thumbnail interactions
Leave unchanged unless:
- Your theme structure is custom
- Videos are not syncing correctly with product thumbnails
Zoom Query Selector
Defines the parent HTML element for the product image zoom or modal.
This helps Videowise:
- Detect zoom behavior
- Prevent conflicts between video widgets and image zoom modals
Only edit this if:
- Your theme has a custom zoom implementation
- You experience conflicts between video playback and image zoom
These settings are primarily intended for those assisting the Customer Success team with implementations. The selection of these query options varies for each client.
Product Inventory Behaviour
This setting controls how inventory status affects shoppable videos.
Use Inventory
When selected:
- Videowise respects Shopify inventory status
- Products marked out of stock will show as Out of stock in shoppable videos
- Prevents purchasing unavailable products
Recommended for:
- Most stores
- Accurate stock visibility
- Avoiding customer frustration
Ignore Inventory
When selected:
- Products always appear In stock in shoppable videos
- Products remain purchasable even if Shopify inventory is zero
Use this only if:
- You manage inventory externally
- You accept backorders or preorders
- Stock availability is not critical in video flows
After updating any General settings, click Save. The changes apply immediately at the store level.
