How to create a Shoppable pop-up video widget
This guide walks you through everything you need to build a shoppable pop-up video widget in Videowise, from designing it to setting it live on your store.
A shoppable pop-up video widget is a video experience that pops up over your site content and lets shoppers interact with products directly inside the video — ideal for conversion, surprise offers, UGC highlights, and limited-time campaigns.
A shoppable pop-up video widget:
- Opens as an overlay modal on your store
- Plays a video (UGC, demo, hero campaign, etc.)
- Shows linked products with shoppable hotspots or product cards
- Lets shoppers add products to cart without leaving the popup
Step 1: Create a New Widget
- In the Videowise sidebar, go to Shoppable → On-site widgets
- Click New widget
- On the left sidebar, scroll down until you locate “interactive widgets” > “Shoppable pop-up video”.
This opens the widget editor.
Add Videos
Depending on the playlist selection screen:
Simple Playlist (Static Pop-Up)
- Select one or more videos from your media library
- Click Confirm
These videos will appear in the widget playlist, and shoppers will see the first one by default, and you can configure how they browse between them.
Advanced Playlist (Automated)
For product-specific pop-ups:
If you choose an Advanced playlist, you’ll map videos to products, the widget will show the video linked to the product context when triggered.
Design the Pop-Up (Widget Design)
Inside the widget editor, open Widget design in the left sidebar.
These settings control how the pop-up looks, appears, and behaves before the video is opened.
