You can find all Live Shopping tools inside any live show by navigating to Live Shopping β Your show β Engage.
Coupon Codes
The Coupon Code tool lets you reveal a discount code to viewers at a specific moment during your show.
You can keep it hidden at first and unveil it after a set number of minutes, creating excitement and rewarding viewers who stay engaged the longest.
How to set up a Coupon Code
When setting up your live show, head to Engage β Coupon Code and fill in the following fields:
- Description (max 25 characters): A short label displayed next to the code (e.g., "Summer Sale" or "Exclusive").
- Coupon Code (max 8 characters): The actual discount code your viewers will see and can use at checkout.
- Expiration Date: When the coupon stops being displayed to viewers. Use this to create urgency, for example, making the discount valid for only 30 minutes into the show, or it can be a month later after the show.
- Timer: Enable it if you want to reveal the coupon after the show starts. Uncheck it to show it immediately from the beginning of the show.
- Reveal after: set how many minutes the coupon code will reveal itself after the show starts.
- Reveal text (max 25 characters): A teaser message shown with a countdown before the coupon appears (e.g., "Coming soon").
Coupon expiration is a powerful scarcity tactic. Setting a short expiration window encourages viewers to act fast and not miss out on the deal.
Coupon visibility on social channels
If you are simulcasting your live show on Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok, the coupon code will also be displayed on those platforms. However, interactive features like copying the code are not available on social channels, viewers will need to manually enter the code at checkout.
The coupon also applies to recordings. It will only be shown if the reveal time and expiration conditions are still met at the point in the recording the viewer has reached.
Add to Cart Notifications
Add to Cart Notifications automatically post a message in the live chat every time a viewer adds a product to their cart. This creates real-time social proof and encourages other viewers to take action.
How to enable Add to Cart Notifications
- In your live show, navigate to Engage β Add to cart.
- Toggle the notification on.
- Optionally, customize the notification message template. The message must include the
{{product_name}}variable so it displays the correct product name. For example: "Someone has added {{product_name}} to their cart."
Giveaways
The Giveaway tool lets you run live contests to reward your most engaged viewers. Define a prize, choose how viewers can enter (by commenting freely or with a specific keyword), and Videowise automatically draws a winner from all participants when the time runs out.
Giveaways are available exclusively on your website. Viewers watching via simulcasted channels (Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok) cannot participate.
How to set up a Giveaway
When setting up your live show, head to Engage β Giveaway and fill in the following fields:
- Prize name
- Prize type:
- Your own choice: Youβre responsible for announcing what is the prize and sending it to the winners. Remember to contact them once theyβre selected.
- From item list: This will let you choose from your products list.

Running a Giveaway during your live show
Giveaways are started manually during your live from the Moderate β Tools β Giveaway tab. Once started, viewers see the reward preview, the entry rule, and a live countdown timer.
When the giveaway ends, a winner is automatically drawn from all unique participants, each viewer is only counted once regardless of how many times they comment. Winners are announced in the chat 60 seconds later (if Winner reveal in live is enabled).
From the same Moderate tab, you can also:
- Redraw a winner: Select a new winner if the original winner is ineligible.
- Pause winner reveal: Hold the public announcement to verify the winner before it goes live, then unpause to display the result.
Viewing giveaway results
After the live show, head over to analytics, and scroll down to locate the Giveaway stats
Since prize fulfilment cannot be automated, you will need to contact the winner directly outside Videowise.

Shopping cart expiration
Cart expiration adds a countdown timer to shoppers' carts during a live show. When time runs low, a message bar appears on the cart to create urgency and push shoppers to check out before their items are released.
Settings (when On)
- Cart expires after β how many minutes a shopper has to check out once an item enters their cart (e.g. 15 min).
- Expiration message β the text shown on the shopper's cart. A live countdown timer (e.g. 3:30) is always displayed next to the message; it doesn't need to be written into the text.
- Display cart expiration at β how many minutes before expiration the message appears (e.g. 5 min before). The cart stays quiet until then.
- Message styling β background color (color picker) and text color (black or white).
During the show (Moderate tab)
Moderators get a Cart expiration quick-action block in Moderate β Engage, alongside Add to cart notification and Giveaway. It shows the feature status (Active) and lets them change one setting on the fly: Cart expires after (minutes), applied with the Apply button. All other settings are only editable in the Engage tab before the show.
What shoppers experience
- Shopper adds an item to their cart during the live show β the expiration timer starts.
- Nothing is shown until the configured warning window (e.g. 5 minutes left).
- The message bar slides in above the cart/products with the custom message and a live countdown.
- If the shopper checks out in time, nothing else happens. If the timer reaches 0:00, the cart expires and items are released.
Polls
Use polls to create interactive Live Shopping experiences, increase viewer engagement, gather feedback, and conduct market research.
The Poll tool lets you ask your viewers a question during the live show and see how they answer in real time. You prepare the poll before going live, start it when the moment is right, and Videowise collects the votes and shows the breakdown as they come in.
Polls are text only β no images β and they're available exclusively on your website. Viewers watching via simulcasted channels (Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok) cannot participate.
Voting is anonymous. Videowise records only the vote counts per option; we never store which viewer chose what.
How to set up a Poll
When setting up your live show, head to Engage β Polls and turn the tool on:

Once this is done, fill in the following fields:
- Question: what you're asking viewers (e.g. "Which color should we restock first?").
- Options: between 2 and 4 text answers. Add, edit, reorder or remove options as you write β the preview on the right updates as you type.
- Duration: how many minutes viewers have to vote after the poll starts (default: 2 minutes). The countdown is visible to viewers inside the poll.
- Results type:
- Instant results: viewers see the percentages immediately after they vote.
- Secret results (default): results stay hidden until the poll timer runs out or you end the poll manually. Until then, a viewer only sees their own choice confirmed.
Running a Poll during your live show
Polls are started manually during your live from the Moderate β Tools β Poll tab. Only one poll runs at a time.

When you press Start poll, the widget opens on the viewer's player already expanded, with the question, the options and the countdown.

Viewers tap an option to vote β one vote per viewer, and the vote is final. They can collapse the poll to a small tab and reopen it at any time while it's running.

While the poll is running, the Moderate tab shows the status as Running together with the live vote count, the percentage per option and the time left. From there you can:
- End poll: closes voting before the timer runs out. You'll be asked to confirm with End now or Cancel, so a mis-click doesn't cut the poll short.
- Let it end on its own: the poll closes automatically when the duration expires.

Results are shared with viewers automatically the moment the poll ends, for both results types β the widget switches to the final breakdown, with the viewer's own choice marked by a checkmark and the leading option highlighted. Once the poll has ended you can Hide the results from the player, or Start next poll if you prepared more than one.

Viewing poll results
After the live show, head over to Analytics and scroll down to locate the Polls stats.
The results section shows:
- Polls run
- Total votes
- Participation rate (voters Γ· unique live viewers)
- For each poll: the question, the total votes, and the votes and percentage per option, with the top pick marked.
