How to track hashtags
Define hashtags that you want to follow. All content tagged with these hashtags will automatically be saved in the "My UGC" section daily.
In this article, we'll show you how to add hashtags of your choice effectively. By defining specific hashtags to follow, you'll seamlessly gather all relevant content tagged with them, automatically saving it to your "My UGC" section on a daily basis. Let's dive in!
Track Hashtags on Instagram
Head over to UGC > Detect UGC Setup. Under "Find UGC on Instagram", locate the "Add Hashtag" button to open the modal.

On the modal, add your desired hashtag and then click on "Add Hashtag"

Track Hashtags on Titkok
On the same Detect UGC page, locate "Find UGC on Titkok" and click on "Add hashtag".

On the modal, add the hashtag you want to track and click on "Add Hashtag".

Hashtag tracking best practices
❌ Ensure your hashtag is free of spaces and consists only of letters, numbers, underscores, and periods. It must be between 2 and 24 characters in length. Failure to comply will result in the hashtag not being added and will pop up an error banner, as in the example below.

When tracking a hashtag, opt for one that isn't overly popular; otherwise, you may encounter the following message:

If you're determined to track a highly popular hashtag, click "Message us" to discuss it with our team. Otherwise, click "Skip It."

With the UGC Free plan, you can monitor up to 10 hashtags. To access additional tracked hashtags, consider upgrading to UGC Pro.
You're all set! Now you can start detecting all your content tagged with these hashtags directly in the "My UGC" section daily.
Remove Hashtags
If you want to remove a hashtag from your tracking list, just click on the "-" icon to "Remove" it.
Make sure to do it for both Instagram and/or TikTok if you have the same hashtags tracked on both social platforms.

This will prompt a modal to confirm that you want to delete this hashtag. Once ready, click "Delete Hashtag".

If you delete a hashtag, Videowise will stop scrapping content from it. Any content that has already been scrapped will remain in your Inbox.
Filter your UGC based on hashtags that you want to track
To detect your UGC solely through the hashtags you've tracked, head over to the "My UGC" section and click on "Search Criteria".
From there, check the boxes for the hashtags you want to filter, and your feed will populate exclusively with content containing those hashtags.

Frequently asked questions
Can I track the same hashtag on both Instagram and TikTok?
Yes, but you need to add the hashtag separately on each platform. Instagram and TikTok hashtag tracking are managed independently in Videowise, so adding a hashtag on one platform does not automatically track it on the other.
Are there any restrictions on the format of hashtags I can add?
Hashtags must be between 2 and 24 characters and cannot contain spaces or special characters. Enter the hashtag without the # symbol when adding it in Videowise. Following these rules ensures the hashtag is recognized correctly by both Instagram and TikTok.
How many hashtags can I track on the Free plan?
The Free plan supports tracking up to 10 hashtags. If you need to track more hashtags across your campaigns, upgrading to a higher plan will give you an increased limit to suit larger content discovery needs.
What happens to my existing content if I remove a hashtag?
Removing a hashtag stops Videowise from scraping new content associated with it, but all previously collected posts remain in your UGC library. You will not lose historical content by removing a hashtag.
Why should I avoid tracking very popular hashtags?
Very popular hashtags generate an extremely high volume of posts, which can flood your UGC feed with irrelevant content and make it difficult to find quality posts from real customers. Using more specific, niche hashtags produces better results and helps you surface the most relevant UGC for your brand.
